Rockland Minor Hockey (RMHA) - Annual General Meeting (AGM) Minimize

Rockland Minor Hockey (RMHA) will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) Thursday May 3rd, 7pm, upstairs at the CIH Arena.

AGM topics for this year include;

1)      The usual election of the Executive Committee – this year including a Presidential election (Directors are voted in for a 1-year term while the President is elected for a 2-year term).

2)      District III Restructuring presentation – for next season a PGL (Rep B) amalgamation of Rockland and Clarence players to form Minor and Major aged teams that will play out of either Rockland or Clarence and travel into Ottawa and area arenas for league games.  Nation (House League) stays within each Association (“Nats” and “Castors” still exist!!) and now becomes tiered (“B” and “C”) rather than just 1 level, where feasible.

3)      Registration fee increases –  Significant ice cost increases (coupled with HST issues on those ice costs) and our City’s handling of a subsidization of local Associations dictate a sizeable increase in registration fees are needed for the 2012-13 playing season (also eliminating any family discount RMHA has traditionally offered).  After year-end cost analysis, the RMHA Executive has determined the following registration fees are (unfortunately!!) required to apply for next year;

Initiation: (2006-2007)                    [HTML]#160;    500.00

Novice:     (2004-2005)                    [HTML]#160;    625.00

Atom:     (2002-2003)                       [HTML]#160;    750.00

Pee Wee:  (2000-2001)                  [HTML]#160;    750.00

Bantam:   (1998-1999)                    [HTML]#160;    800.00

Midget:    (1995-1997)                    [HTML]#160;    800.00

Juvenile:  (1991-1994)                    [HTML]#160;    400.00

Where these topics may be of interest to you please attend the RMHA AGM Thursday, May 3rd – 7pm, upstairs at the Arena on the Academy grounds….

Another season full of success Minimize

Another season full of success for our Rockland Nats Pee Wee PGL level!!!

Article written by É. Martin, picture taken by F. Faucon

The team which consisted of 10 players and one goalie finished the season in 1st place and accumulated only a few games in which they were defeated.  They also showed the Americans how hockey was played by dominating their tournament in Lake Placid.  The Nats prepared themselves all year for the playoffs.  They started the playoffs playing against the St-Isidore Eagles and with little effort was able to eliminate the team.  They were able to them move onto the finals against the Vankleek Hill Cougars.  The Nats started the season on a positive note by winning the first two games but the Cougars did a comeback and beat the Nats on their home ice.  Without too much worry for the Nats, they played in Vankleek Hill in the hopes of winning the trophy for the second time.  To the joy of the coaching staff and fans and with the extraordinary team spirit, the Nats were successful in winning the trophy in Vankleek Hill with a score of 4 to 2!!!
